M. Bernice Logan

M. Bernice Logan, age 71, of 4039 District 204 Rd., Tamaroa passed away Monday afternoon February 28, 2000 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Bernice was born the daughter of Ezra and Ann (Rice) Hutchings July 20, 1928 in Rice, IL. She was united in marriage on August 20, 1944 to Joseph Lee Scholebo and he passed away July 2, 1949. She was then united in marriage to Clarence E. Babe Logan in Pinckneyville on November 18, 1950 and he passed away on July 7, 1995. Bernice was employed as a production worker with MCA Records and retired in 1990 after 27 years of service. She was also a member of Women of the Moose in Murphysboro, IL.
Bernice is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Scholebo and wife Jane of Jupiter, Florida and Ross Logan of Pinckneyville; three daughters, Janet Brand and husband Bob, Jeanne Brand and husband Bill, and Crystal Campbell and husband Keith all of Pinckneyville; a step-daughter, Kay Kaffenberger and her husband Glen of Osage Beach, Missouri; a brother, Loren Hutchings of Nashville; two sisters, Vernie Ferrari of Pinckneyville and Jewell Long of Swanwick; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, five brothers - Claude, Cecil, Luther, Wilson, Walter, one sister, Ernie McCune and one grandson, Todd Pratt.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning, March 2, 2000 at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Brother Steven Hamilton officiating. Interment was in the Campbell Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
Friends were able to call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and again Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until services.
